one thousand gifts {#1336-1379}

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord,
“My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

{Psalm 91:1-2}

My beautiful old Kentucky home was hit hard by tornadoes this past Friday. A lot of anxious hearts became even more anxious once the word spread that Jim Cantore was in town. That’s never a good sign. In the midst of all the hype and scary clouds, one of my friends posted Psalm 91:1-2 on her Facebook. It took up residence in my heart and wouldn’t let go the rest of the day. When you know that the Maker of the storm holds you in the palm of His hand, how can you be afraid? Counting the many ways He blesses me has helped strengthen my trust in Him.

The Lord placed His protective hand over Lexington, for which I am very grateful. Some of my neighbors were not so fortunate. Twenty people died in my state and many lives have been dramatically changed after such devastation. Please join me in praying for these precious people who have lost loved ones and every comfort of calling a place home. May God comfort them, give them peace, and show them His great love.
